	The PS.NET/Citizens Service Portal (CSP) is designed to provide Community Interaction with Law Enforcement Agencies serving their area, as well as public access to crime information in their neighborhoods. It is designed to improve communication between the public and the local public safety agencies, and provide public access to crime information for jurisdictions serviced by the participating agencies. It is also an effort to streamline essential services and reduce the costs of local government. These services include the following.

		Crime Activity Mapping Interactive Crime and Activity Pin Maps showing selected crime categories within a geographic area for a selected time frame. The portal pin mapping capability provides a “window” for the citizen to view neighborhood and community crimes and crime trends. Watch: On-Line Video Overview - Mapping
		On-Line Crime Reports Provides a self service Crime Reporting portal for citizens to file selected categories of crime reports to the agency via a highly secure internet connection. The portal approach benefits the public by allowing citizens to file reports from the convenience of their own homes, and assists the agency by reducing the resources required to take petty crimes and no-suspect reports. Reports accepted from on-line submissions can be directly imported into the agency’s records management system, eliminating any duplicate data entry. Watch: On-Line Video Overview - Reports

		Analytics The portal provides direct Analytical inquiry into the crime statistics database. The analytics capabilities provide detailed summary lists of specific crime types in a city/neighborhood and a variety of trend analysis composites. The system also allows selection of a growing list of statistical reports on crime trends and comparisons of crime trends within and between participating agencies.

		E-Mail Notifications Registration for notifications of crime occurrences within a geographic area (distance from an address; by a geographic area such as beat/district/ or in a community. Notifications are made via e-mail.
		Integration to Agency's Existing Web Site Citizen access to the Portal appears as a basic component of the Agency's web site, with no advertising or promotional material presented.

		Secure Data Management The information and capabilities provided through the portal are completely controlled by the agency, at no time will internal agency information be accessible to the public. Configuration parameters can be modified at any time by the agency using a simple management program. Changes take effect immediately.
