How To Map Activity

 
  1. Crime Type Selection - Indicate which event types you would like to plot on the map.
  2. Event Source - Select to view Agency activity or filed crime reports.
  3. Event Filter Controls - Use these to select search criteria, including time periods and crime types.
  4. Your Address - Indicate the center of the search area.
  5. Map Controls - Use this to zoom in and out on the map, as well as pan. The default "zoom-level" displays crime/call incidents in a radius of approximately four miles. You can also turn on the satelite image to get a different view, including satellite and hybrid overlays.
  6. Search for Address - Click to locate your address on the map.
  7. Interactive Map - This area displays the active map, plotted search results and search address.
  8. Detail Window - When pointing at an event marker with the mouse, the detail window opens to display additional information related to the event. Information provided may change based on agency dissemination policy.
  9. Map Legend - Indicates current zoom level.
  10. Help - Provides map specific help and directions.
  11. Event Location Marker - These markers indicates the location of the crime events and are displayed according to the crime type classification.
  12. Search Results - This panel shows the number of records returned by the search. Click any incident marker on the map to view additional details.
  13. Search Button - Click this button to perform event search and plotting to the current map and crime reports.
