File Your Crime Report Online!

This agency portal allows you as a private citizen to file selected categories of crime reports on-line. You will be guided through a series of questions and specialized data entry forms designed to capture the needed data for a valid police report. From the initiating page you simply select the type of report you wish to file. Reports can include basic crime data (face page, reporting party, other involved parties, vehicles, property, and narrative.

The system will prompt you to provide your contact information for the purpose of registering you as the person filing the report and to provide a point of contact for follow-up investigations.

The next page contains specific instructions on how to complete the On-Line Police Crime Report. Most of the data boxes on the report form are self explanatory, and those that are required are displayed with red bolded lable's for clear identification. Please complete all fields that apply to the incident. Depending on the type of report to be filed the system will step you through the required data forms. Once complete the system will display a summary of the data provided and request that you review to ensure all elements have been accurately entered. If you wish to modify entered information you may simply go to the related information page and modify any relevant information. Once completed you simply hit the "Submit" button and the report is routed to the agency for review. You will be provided with a transaction reference number that can be used to check the reports progress on-line or when contacting the agency directly.

When the report has been completed, the agency is notified that the report is ready for review. Agency personnel will review the submitted report to ensure that the information is complete, and will initiate the appropriate clerical and investigative actions.
Data from the initial filing is held in suspense until reviewed within the agency.  At this point, the reviewer can accept the report (i.e. generate a full crime report) or reject the filing with reasons and notes back to the citizen doing the submission.
At any time, the citizen can inquire over the Internet on the status of their report or register to be notified of changes via e-mail.
